Fun Things to do in Cleveland This Summer

Hi, I’m Rachel Permetti, Creative Marketing Director with Young Team Realtors and I’m going to tell you the places you need to be this summer in Cleveland! I have already enjoyed some of these places or events, and some are on my summer bucket list. Cleveland is a big city filled with adventures to be had. So read over these fun places and events and put them on your go-to bucket list.

Cleveland Museum of Art

If you’re an art lover and haven’t been to the Cleveland Museum of Art yet, you need to go ASAP. For starters, it’s FREE general admission, but donations are accepted. The museum holds an abundance of fascinating pieces. I personally enjoy the Ancient Near Eastern, Greek, and Roman and the Rotating textiles and manuscripts sections. For the fellas out there, the Armor Court includes armor, swords, and chainmail that are sure to fascinate you. If you’re not sure what to expect, download their current map. Now, go and enjoy some art!

Edgewater LIVE

Edgewater LIVE is the perfect way to escape the workday and relax on the sand with friends. Presented by Cuyahoga Community College, the FREE event starts at 4:30 pm every Thursday through August 2 at Edgewater Beach. First, performers from the Tri-C Creative Arts Program kick off the night while you grab some delicious food from rotating local food trucks. Then, the Edgewater LIVE performers finish off the night while you enjoy a refreshment at the Edgewater Beach house. You are now able to rent standup paddleboards, umbrellas, chairs and other beach essentials from the Edgewater Nature Shop so you can fully enjoy the event and take in your surroundings.

Cleveland Botanical Garden

According to their website, “When you visit Cleveland Botanical Garden, you’ll find inspiration and enrichment through fabulous gardens, an exotic Glasshouse, and enchanting events.” The more I read about the beautiful gardens and unique Glasshouse, the more I want to visit! They have a garden specifically for children, an art gallery, group tours, and a photography club membership. Admission is $12.00 for adults, $8.00 for children 3-12 and free for children 2 and under. It sounds like a great place to explore by yourself, with your significant other, or with your kids. There is something there for everyone!

WOW! Wade Oval Wednesday

Here’s another entertaining event to enjoy on a weeknight in Cleveland. You can visit WOW! Wade Oval Wednesday on Wednesdays and Edgewater LIVE on Thursdays! Speaking from experience, weekly Wednesday soiree is a great way to spice up your work week. WOW! Wade Oval Wednesday is an event held at Wade Oval from 6:00-9:00 p.m. in the heart of University Circle every Wednesday starting today through August 22. There is a FREE concert with food trucks and local vendors lined up around the circle. The event boasts different performers every week along with theme nights and activities. I’ve already attended this event and definitely recommend you do too!

There are so many fun things to do this summer in Cleveland. You could explore the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Cleveland Botanical Gardens or enjoy the delightful sounds of live music at Edgewater LIVE or Wade Oval Wednesday. Take advantage of the beautiful summer weather and get out and about. What fun things will you choose to do this summer?
